Our History

Faith Baptist Church began in a home with six members in 1984, under founding pastor, Dwight Simpson. From there we rented property until we moved to our present location in 1986, formally as Faith Baptist Church. Pastor Simpson went on to pastor Faith for over twenty-five years until retirement. During that time Pastor Simpson actively served Emporium, setting up a food pantry and Salvation Army in town and pastored another church in Down County.

From 2008 to 2011, Faith Baptist went through a period of transition. Former Deacon, Richard Beck led the church for several years before Jeremy Caskey was called to serve as Pastor at the end of 2011 and remained in that capacity until July 2014 when he was called to return to active duty military service as a United States Air Force chaplain.  Jonathan Ahlgren was called to pastor Faith that same month. He and his wife ministered to our congregation through the beginning of 2017. After completing Bible college and seeking the Lord’s will, Pastor Ahlgren enrolled in seminary to further studies in Louisville, Kentucky. An invitation was extended to Daniel Lawson in February of 2017 to preach. After completing work and ministry responsibilities in Georgia, Pastor Daniel accepted the role of pastor at Faith Baptist Church.
